Warning: These are not pretty pics. But we don't have this bird yet in our online database so I decided to post pictures of this bird even if the quality is not up to par. A forum lifer, hehe. Considered an uncommon bird found in middle to higher elevations. We photographed this bird in Mt. Kitanglad. We actually saw them three times but always a bit far away and against the light. This was also a lifer for us as well. Which is why we took these pictures even if it was high noon, the worst time to take pics. As they say a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush. We have now seen a picture of a Stripe-breasted Rhabdonis. Well done Tonji. Mabuhay.

Thanks Ely. Yup we would not have posted these birds but since there does not seem to be a picture yet in our data base we thought better a marginal picture than none at all. Hehe. Aside from the different markings, the beak of this bird is also quite different from the beak of the Stripe-headed Rhabdornis that we usually see. The beak was shorter kinda like a flycatcher beak. Next time we go to Kitanglad, I will try for a better picture of this species..... well this one and bunch of others that need improvement.
