Lovely pelicans and lovely pictures. I noticed that the other one has thicker feathers, is that the male? Well done Conrad. Mabuhay.

That's my guess as well Ely. The clean looking one should be the female. Thanks for the comments. Cheers

The ones with the pale undersides are juveniles. (photo 1 and the one below in photo 3). Photo 2 and the one above in photo 3 are adults in non-breeding plumage).
Great shots!

Wow, these are giant birds! Very nice capture! Thanks Alain. These are indeed large birds. They're fun to watch too as they just mostly glide in the air. Cheers

Great set Conrado. I was shooting the same birds last month in South Africa but the sad thing it's all over expose. >: ( ha ha ha. Congratulation Probably too much excitement . I've been to similar situations also and that's how we learn, thru our mistakes. I do almost all of my BIF in manual exposure mode. Thanks for the comments Clemn. Cheers

Lovely images Conrad. I would love to photograph these birds in Canada in the near future I'm not sure if we have pelicans in Canada but probably in the west coast (Vancouver - British Columbia). We here in Ontario province are surrounded by lakes. I got this pics during our summer holiday trip in Myrtle Beach (North Carolina).
