In spite of the KG listing taxon dealbatus as commonly occurring in Phils, its status is, nonetheless, not clear.
Of the many avian taxa now involved in the on-going taxonomic upheaval, many of which inappropriately being proposed as splittable good species, dealbatus is likely to be worthy of splitting in final analysis. It has been a sort of lost species treated within a larger alexandrinus for some time, and it is likely to prove to be one of those cryptic species that has not been recognized as such.
