Thanks to Prop Gerry for telling us where to look for this bird! This was at UP with Tonji and Paolo and a whole battalion of very helpful onlookers. "Miss! Miss! Nandiyan na!" Very nice of them to point out the bird AND call me miss, not ma'am! The picture looks like a big eye! The bird so close, but we had to move further away from it so we could get an unobstructed shot. For this shot, I was on my hands and knees and my tripod legs were as flat as possible. Otherwise, the face would have been blocked by the branch. Thank you friends, you are just as nice as the folks at UP! It is so nice to hear from all of you -- Toto, Don, Bob, Dennis, Paolo, Tina, Gabs, Edu, Mark, and Bert! @tina and Bob -- amazing sight to see in UP! There was also a cuckoo in a tree near us, but I got flustered (taranta) and wasn't able to take a picture. @toto - we were really lucky to be looking at right area at the right time. From what we saw, it spends a lot of time on the ground looking for food. We first saw it on the ground, and then it moved to the picnic table! Also, we just stayed by the road and didn't go to the path or into the grass. Hope this helps!

Thanks JV and Enrique. JV -- according the Prop Gerry's sources, it's been seen washing itself in the stream!
