I was quite unsuccessful in getting BIF shots of this species at the coastal lagoon. Just when I gave up this one alighted on a nearby bamboo pole giving me a full frame opportunity. Canon 5D MkII, 500mm+1.4X, ISO-320, f5.6 , 1/1250 (my settings were still for BIFs ;D major, major mistake - that's why it' did not turn out as sharp as I wanted it to be ), tripod, gimbal head.

That's sharp enough for me Tukayo! Great portrait of that tern!

Clean and beautiful! I usually prefer a bit of fill flash to get the eyes clearer, and to have a nice catch light. But this one's great!

I do not mind about your settings, Bob. The quality still looks great with creamy background and soft lighting. I love it!

Beautiful bro, the fine details in a two-toned melted BG made this an outstanding capture.

Still good detail despite the major major shake, Bob. Love the creamy BG, too.
