Excellent detail, great colors, superb eye contact, food in bill, creamy background and very nice pose..... this must be among the best in-habitat captures of this species I've seen so far. Amazing camera work and very pleasing PP (optimum sharpening and near perfect histogram in all color channels), big congrats Tonji!!!

Hehehe, I though as much about this beauty. It's really one of the very best photos I've seen of this bird captured in the wild. Big Congrats!

Wow Bird Photo of the Week. Thanks everyone. I was lucky with this bird. Its not often a bird will pose in just the right spot to give us a good photo. This bird was kind enough to oblige.

Add to that the degree of difficulty in capturing a decent image of this little dynamo. Great work as always Tonji!

I often do that, go to a tree, find a branch with what I would think would make the best BG then silently wish a bird would perch there and pose for me. Hasn't happened yet.
