1d2, 400 5.6 + 1.4 tc, f8, 1/100, iso 640, spot metering, car window support. this is a cropped image, did some sharpening in PS using USM.

Nice eye contact, superb detail and lovely colors, Den! The highlights in the background are distracting, so be conscious of your BG when shooting. Would love a less massive perch too. There are a number of dust spots in the BG. Lastly you can make the composition stronger by chopping off a bit of space at the top and right.

thank you Mastah for pointing those things. i think i really need to let my sensor cleaned . will try to re-do this again. just curious regarding the play of highlights and shadows, for this image, no i need to adjust on someting? thanks again

Hi Dennis,
For me, I'd decrease the Contrast a bit and put in a bit of Fill Light (c.f. Lightroom/ Photoshop). The white halo around the bird may be due to too much sharpening - try adjusting the Radius and Amount.
The key is to get close - something I forever will work on! Keep on shooting!

just curious regarding the play of highlights and shadows, for this image, no i need to adjust on someting? Yes, you can push the shadows a bit especially in the face area. You'd probably want to do that during RAW conversion to minimize noise.
