If you're chasing this as a lifer, I'd opine that it's a Common Sandpiper and we're locking this thread so others can't chime in. Hehehe, just kidding.... yes you got the Tattler and a nice capture at that Edu!

WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! It's not so often that we go out with a specific bird as target and we get it. Makes this lifer doubly nice! Mastah, had you said it was a sandpiper, I would refute your claim as I found this one with guidance from a very respectable source.

Hehehe..... watch out for the haloes from the shadow/highlights tool - they're quite noticeable on my LCD. Yes sir. I still remember the PM I sent you about it. But oddly enough, my other shots also have a sort of halo but the reverse (dark halo). On an egret.

If the settings aren't optimized, the SH tool will produce a bright halo around darker objects and dark halo around brighter objects. Both are seen in the photo here - a bright glow at the back and around the breast, while a dark halo is around the rock.

You mean the dark halo along the edges of whites? That's normal for files with aggressive sharpening, or pre-cooked jpeg out of camera with significant sharpening. There are many tricks to minimize this if working from RAW. Sharpening as implemented in PS is actually cheating the eyes by making the boundary or transition zone from one color to the other more contrasty. It does this by darkening further the darker area and brightening the brighter area to intensify tone separation, then tapering off the tones. See the crops below.
