Hi Lawrence,
Editing-wise, you've done the better part of what can be processed out of the capture. I'd try to reduce the dark halo around the top of the perch and on top of the bright legs/feet.
Capture-wise, the background looks great, with good sharpness around the head area. Exposure is fine too. The perch isn't too flattering, as well as the position of the bird (butt to the camera). I see that you shot wide open at 300 mm, and the DOF is very thin considering that the bird's rear end extends nearer the camera. If the bird is facing the camera, you can get away with such thin DOF if the head is sharp, because the rear end would just melt with the BG.

Hi Romy thanks for the comment and observation, yes I used a wide open aperture at f5.6/ A-priority because ambient is low, I just get 1/100s at ISO1000 this results in shallow DOF. I even use a tripod on this shot. I used spot metering and S- AF and locked it on the eyes, bird was calm and relaxed that's why I have a bit of time. I guess the legs exposure were affected by my curve adjustments, I just didnt pay attention much on that detail. I really appreciate your comment and suggestion specially the position of the bird relative to the focus point. Thanks
