While most members of the group went inside the mangrove forest to hunt the Philippine Ducks and other birds, I stayed behind and positioned myself to shoot BIFs. So when the birds fly out because of the presence of the group inside, I would be blessed with some BIFs outside... and I did get some BIFs which I would later on post herein. Wooow Alain! That's a SUPER BIF! The closer this bullet gets to you the faster you have to pan! you seem to be perfecting your BIF skills for the next month's contest.

I wonder if birds do get injured with these blanket of thorns.

Leaving my tripod behind, I stalked these birds really sloooww and quietly and despite of the thick thorny covers (Roma) and the distance between me and them, they were still spooked. I only got a few frames. Very harsh lighting on this one. Philippine Ducks, San Juan, Batangas Canon 50D, EF 400mm f5.6L, 1x2 pounds "rice" bag Shot @ f5.6, 1/200", ISO100, 60% pixels wasted, handheld, on bended knee

I like the way the ducks are highlighted, and the surroundings remain darkened, further enhanced by the blurry foreground... a serene setting... great work, Toto!
