hi' the OBS Nectarinia jugularis L. is fairly common in my place and watched this couple for several days already. The OBSs come to the banana flower and feed on its nectar only between 4pm and sunset. Has anyone have such similar observation? d5000 + SigEnigma, 500mm, +TC1.4x, ISO1250, 1/60s, f/9, tripod

The title immediately reminded me of the time I went to Butuan without my birding gear and these guys were everywhere! I mean everywhere! They even nest under a waiting shed's roof! Right outside the hotel/resort I stayed in.
Great shots renoir!

That is so interesting Renoir. These are beautiful captures. Everyday, the OBS chirps at exactly 5:45 in the morning, our wake up call. telyds

Nice shot of the OBS. I experienced the same situation in Coron. It was raining but the OBS and Lovely Sunbird were feeding on the Banana flower nectar. They also fight for that right to sip the nectar. Well done Renoir. Mabuhay.
