Nice set of pictures. What a plumb looking pine tree on the second picture. How lucky you are to live is such a beautiful environment of birds and trees. I heard that there is a legend about the Mockingbirds singing beautifully. But the best is when they are heart broken because their mate rejects them and they would stick their breast into a thorn and the last song that they sing is the best song of their life. Is there any truth to this? First time for me to see a Mockingbird. Well done Conrad. Mabuhay.

great set! I would imagine it is hard to locate this bird through hearing as it can mock other birds.
Beautiful!

Ely, AA and Edu, thank you. I always appreciate your comments.
From what I've read, this bird is the best when it comes to imate other bird calls and it was proven today when I went back to the park during my lunch break. I saw a mockingbird perched on top of a tree doing different calls from cardinals, blue jays, orioles and other sounds. It was really fun to watch and listen, too bad he's perched too high for me to take a video or a still shot.

Beautiful series of photos, Conrad! Lovely detail and atmophere. Exposure control is excellent considering the dappled light, which can be really tricky!

Jacci, Nilo and Ed, thank you very much for the nice comments. If you can only hear how this bird sings and immitate the other birds, it will make you laugh.
