Just came back from North Cotabato, the long drive made it all worth while when on the first day I got a lifer already. Wish this was a birding trip. I got a big surprise when I reviewed the shots of what I thought was a bathing ETS. It really pays to "Shoot first and ask questions later". I'm still in Davao and hopefully I get to sneak out again one of these days. Brown Tit-Babbler ( Macronous striaticeps mindanensis) Endemic - Tawan-tawan, Mlang, North Cotabato, May 23, 2010. 5DM2 + 600 L f4 IS + 1.4x Sigma TC, f5.6, 1/160 sec, ISO 3200, Tv priority, +1 EV, Tripod-Gimbal support, under available light.

The name does not sound very flattering but I did see one this morning and what a frisky little bird. I even saw a Black Crown Tit Babbler but when I look at the monitor after I press the shutter, the bird was gone. Well tomorrow is another day. Your capture is excellent. You must have been very close to the bird. Well done Neon. Mabuhay.

and you had to post a pair didn't you sir? What a lifer! Thank you for the short story, at least now I know it must be like an ETS by size and movement?

Babbler! Cool. Great capture! Ah Neon, you are carrying around your 600mm f4 I think that makes it a birding trip. I hope you get more lifers while you are there.
