Are cowbirds rare in Canada? They're quite common in the US but are not popular because they lay their eggs in other species' nests.

The cowbirds are probably rare in my area (near Toronto). Our parks are dominated by the Common-Grackles and Red-winged Blackbirds. I've read that there are some parts in the US where they are very common like the gulls that we have here at wal-mart parking lots.
