While everyone was out doing Visita Iglesia or stalking the Bean Goose on Good Friday, I decided to go solo to try my hibernating 1.4TC with my 300mm in Canlubang Golf and Country Club. It was the only day in the year that they close the place. I had the North and South Courses all to myself. With a golf cart and a driver/guide who happens to live inside the compound, I did my station of the course . It was a great time of reflection and easy birding from 7am to 12noon. I got a lot of birdies, a lot of praises for the Creator-Redeemer. It was a Good Friday, indeed. My 300mm has a 1.4 handicap. I think my score card is at now at par. Thanks to my goofing buddies, Neon and Rey, for helpful tips. But Idol Tina, I'm still doing hula-hula with my settings. You inspire me. Hehehe, Ate Lyds can always find something to shoot wherever she is. She sees all the beauty in God's creation, and rightly gives Him praise! Thanks for sharing these photos 'te Lyds - let's continue to give Glory to the Maker and Author of Life!

Wow!! Excellent captures in all, Te Lyds!! You should get that 1.4x TC to good use more often.
I've never seen these amount of photos with ISO of 100-200 in a single sortie. Love the exposure and details on the munia, the jumping barbet is another one. That FF BS must be awesome if presented big.

Thank you everyone for the encouraging words. When all were excited over the Bean Goose and the Batanes rare beauties, I said to myself, aah, no one will join if I extend the invitation. I almost changed my mind, too. But you see, I really would like to do an inventory of the Canlubang birds. Canlubang is my birthplace. I was a resident for 25 years and and it was only the Layang-layang (swallows) (or maybe purple needle tail because it would swoop down on us when we mimic the call) that I remember well. The old golf course inside the hacienda was my playround. It was a very beautiful place then. But you see, then, I never noticed most, even the Pipits. I strongly believe that the Creator gifts us with special skills to see the beauty of birds and butterflies that other people can't see. It is only when we start appreciating and caring for His creatures that our eyes see clearly. Yes, Bobby, it is trully right to give Him thanks and praise... not only on Sundays in side the church but esp. on Good Fridays, even in the fields! After all, He was the one who said "Look at the birds of the air...", translated in today's lingo, He is saying, Go, birdwatch... and don't worry, I care for you. Very happy, telyds FYI. Cangolf Southcourse is closed for maintenance on Tuesdays. That means no golfers around. If you guys want to go PM me in advance. Golf cart rents for P400 (that's 50% off, can take 2). Food at the resto is 50% off, too. A party of 3-4 at a time is ideal.
