They seem to be Buff-banded Rails to me. Nice family pic though. Didn't know the chicks start out black

It really nice to see birds in their natural habitat. With the two fledgelings and another one in the background makes it looks like a whole family of Buff Banded Rail. Well done Ronnie. Mabuhay.

Thank you for the ID and comments. I'm really poor at identification. That family is getting in and out of the vegetation of mostly grasses and jungle of thick roots of the big Pandan tree at the side of the road. The chick ventures out occasionally on very short burst time and fast to return to the thicket of roots which is of poor lighting. Got few photo of a barely visible a chick peeking out of the pandan roots wanting to join its mother. Here's one walking taken at the same location. 1/640 f4.4 asa 200 Thanks for viewing
