When Ipat and I saw the bird we first thought it was a duck as it was on the edge of the water and the surrounding area was dark. After taking a few shots, it turned out to be a heron. Ipat took a look at her KGB and declared that it looks like a Black Bittern and she is right. This was confirmed by Desmond Allen. Canon EOS 1D Mark IV, EF 800mm f5.6 IS L Lens. Bean bag on car window. Black Bittern, (Ixobrychus flavicollis) ISO 400, 1/160, f5.6 ISO 400, 1/320, f5.6 Yellow Bittern (Ixobrychus sinensis) ISO 400, 1/320, f5.6 ISO 400, 1/250, f6.3 Island Collared-dove (Streptopelia bitorquata) ISO 1600, 1/160, f5.6 Chestnut Munia, (Lonchura atricapilla) ISO 400, 1/250, f8
