I've been wishing to take pictures of nestlings in their natural habitat for a long time and was so glad to find this hatchlings in our place this afternoon. I refrained from taking more shots beacause I was afraid the little birds will get stressed out. I just thought that I'll take some more shots as the days go on to document it's growth. I read that they will only stay in the nest for twenty days. The shots are so tightly cropped because I want to lessesn the concrete BG, anyway here are some initial captures of what I hope will just be a start... I believe breeding season has just started and this bunch looks like a few days old only. Pacific Swallow Nestlings. Full frame for more details. 40D + 17-85mm, @85mm, F/4.0,1/60, manual exposure, 430EX speedlight bounced light, hand-held.
