This was shot at a relatively close distance of 25 meters, enabling me to record its call using the 5D2 built-in mic.

Thanks Renoir! I'm not sure if it's a mate call, but I suspect it is since there's another whimbrel nearby that made the same call (you can hear it towards the end of the clip).

Wow, thanks for sharing this clip Bong.. i've heard that call whenever i'd be shooting shore birds at Calatagan, but wasn't really sure who's call it was.. always thought it was the call of greenshanks or tattlers... now i know.. well captured video Bong!
