Aside from the Orange-chinned parakeets, the Crimson-fronted Parakeet is the other parrot specie that is very common here in Costa Rica's Central Valley. It is very easy to spot them as they are normally noisy and can be seen in flocks. These pictures were taken this afternoon outside the Sta. Ana Catholic Church, which is just few blocks away from where I live. The Finsch's Parakeet also called Finsch's Conure or Crimson-fronted Parakeet (Aratinga finschi) is a species of parrot in the Psittacidae family. It is found in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Panama. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and heavily degraded former forest.
