Light was splendidly sweet at Candaba wetlands yesterday, and the water birds were flying in all directions. Black-crowned Night-Heron ( Nycticorax nycticorax) 1DM2 + 500 f4 L IS + Canon 1.4x TC, 700 mm, f/7.1, ISO 400, 1/1600 sec, manual exposure, 475B/3421 support:

Yes, Tina, they're still there in their usual numbers, and actually stay nearer the road now. I abstained though from a duck diet yesterday on account of the airshow by the herons. ;D Here's a Purple Heron (Ardea purpurea) captured at 5:21 pm, a few minutes before sunset. 1DM2 + 500 f4 L IS + Canon 1.4x TC, 700 mm, f/6.3, 1/800 sec, ISO 400, manual epxosure, 475B/3421 support:

Looks like were at the "heronry" part of the swamp/wetlands. Watching the herons doing their aerial maneuvers is another thing that I will never get tired of. Amazing details on the Purple Heron !!!! Idol Romy
