Was late to arrive in Candaba yesterday and I only saw the rockstar from afar. Bert, Mark, Pao and Pancho had their shots and were ready to call it a day. By around noon, it flew, hovered twice in the area and it was gone. Waited till 6pm but never saw the thing again. While roaming around to look for the star, I console myself with anything that flies. Barn Swallow Canon 50D, EF 400mm f5.6L Shot f10, 1/640", ISO400, 20% pixels wasted, handheld Pied Fantail Canon 50D, EF 400mm f5.6L Shot f5.6, 1/2000", ISO400, 40% pixels wasted, handheld

It looks like the goose has left for greener pastures. I think the reason for the pond being drained was to get the fish. Hopefully they will pump water in again. Wonderful shots of your BIF. Well done Toto. Mabuhay.

I'd say these wonderful BIFs are more than enough consolation for the missed goose, Toto.

Thanks a lot Rey, Mastah, JV and Mark. Your comments are the real consolation for the failed goose sortie Will just try again and see it goose well.

Awww, too bad you missed the goose, Toto. But you got excellent BIFs..the fantail is eye-popping ..to compensate for your "loss".
