Work and other stuff caught up and got in the way of birding the past few weeks, so when Bert invited me today to Candaba, I promptly accepted the invitation. We were lucky to have spotted the gigantic visitor, and so we spent the day feasting our shutter fingers on this beauty. ;D Here is one of my captures of Candaba's incumbent rockstar. I'm very much tempted to remove the offending twigs, but I decided to keep the capture's fidelity. Taiga Bean Goose ( Anser fabalis) Candaba Wetlands, Pampanga, 10 Apr 2010 EOS 40D, EF 400/5.6 L, ISO 200, f/8, 1/320 sec, manual exposure, ambient light, 190XB/393 gimbal support, full frame Subject distance is roughly 25 meters based on the lens' focus distance scale, but EXIF says it's 76.6 meters.
