Edu and I went to Candaba with very low expectations... get a Bushchat and a Munia. We were doing just that when we got an SMS from Neon that the Star Goose was close to "shore". We walked towards them, sniping at munias along the way... too bad, no Bushchats today. We have to go back... The D300s and the Bigma is in good hands.. na-goose-tuhan ko yung GIF (Goose In Flight)
Gotta love those colors! One thing tho.. the first pic looks skewed based on the water ripples.

It looks like the water level has gone down. Is the goose still in the same pond fronting the concrete waiting shed? The goose looks closer now. Well done Gabs. Mabuhay.

Did you have goose pimples or had to duck to shoot this pin-up duck? It's a good strike, Gabs. I like the DIF. Nakaka-sinduck sa laki (size is awesome). I'm sure like the others, you are also pain-duck, induck like the itik-itik. (goose dancing). I like your pun title, goose to ko rin. Thanks for sharing. telyds

thanks edu! you're right... just took shots on the tripod when the goose landed on my right...
ariel, ely and telyds, thanks... major goose bumps when it did a flyby.
JP, thanks, we were at the water's edge... was tempted to go to the water, except that the thought of your D3 was permanently stuck in my mind!

Yup! Go back for it Toto!!! Just seeing it in flight is quite a thrill. A huge bird in flight!!! Bong, thanks! I really planned this shot... waited for the perfect moment... was half a second late however... Truth be told, I got separated from the group, taking my chance with a pair for philippine ducks. I didn't even know where the goose was. Then it took off, left of my peripheral. Took "Hail Mary" shots... and got one... there were closer flybys... but I guess reality kicked in and I didn't get to shoot anymore.

Wow, great time you had chasing the duck in Candaba Gabs! I'd say much more thrilling, exciting and fulfilling than going on a tiring, mountain bike trek with no birds to photograph in Wawa.. well, i guess those two activities are totally different, and i learned my lesson not to try to do two things at the same time... birding and biking dont jive.. congratulations on your excellent captures!
