It may be difficult to photograph this skittish bird but I find it a challenge to be able to capture them with the camera. They look so happy, jumping from branch to branch without any worries except to get a bite of worm, leaf, flower, or insect. There are not much trees at the Thunderbird Resorts in Poro Point, La Union but the Camachile trees I was told are over a hundred years and they are beautiful. There are two trees which looks like Acacia tree to me and these birds are frequently there chirping and munching happily and I find it very amusing and entertaining. Lowland White-eye (Zosterops meyeni). Endemic to the Philippines. Canon EOS 1D Mark IV, EF 800mm f5.6 IS L Lens, Manfrotto 475B Tripod, MF 373 Gimbal Head ISO 800, 1/400, f8 ISO 800, 1/320. f8 ISO 800, 1/320, f8 ISO 800, 1/400, f8

Very nice close-ups of these tiny dynamos, Ely.... love the detail! Thank you Romy. I am still dreaming about the goose that you captured in flight. I was told that some strange creature tried to befriend it. Heh heh heh.

so this is from your poro pint sortie that we were talking about. good job inspite of the bright conditions Thank you JP. The ISO 800 is for when the birds are inside the canopy. But when they dashed out, instead of changing the ISO and the shutter speed, I just changed the shutter speed. Any suggestions on situations like this?

The best thing about bird photography is the challenges it brings in every situation. It requires a lot of skills, patience, practice and of course, great gears. Having good photos such as these is truly a reward. Nice captures!
