My family and I just came back from a one-week vacation from two distinct places in Costa Rica. We started from the mountainous Monteverde in the north and then we drove down south to the Caribbean side of Puerto Viejo in the Province of Limon, near to its border from Panama. During these trips, I was hoping to catch once again the Keel-billed toucan but I was not fortunate. Instead I got another toucan specie called Emerald Toucanet, taken from the Monteverde Cloud Forest. 400mm f/5.6, 1/640s ISO800 400mm f/5.6 1/40s ISO800

Your camera and lens are really singing in tune. Beautiful pictures of the Emerald Toucanet. The second picture with the look towards the back is my favorite. Well done Ariel. Mabuhay.

Thanks Ely, JP and Pao. How I wish I have better camera like yours so as not to limit my shooting to ISO800. Thanks a lot for the appreciation.

Ariel, cameras are tools if you know how to use your tools and you're good at using your tools you will make great pictures. I know of one Nikon wild life shooter who has a D3S and prefers to shoot at ISO 100 all the time.
Your photos just proves that you know how to handle your instrument.
I would so love to learn how to approach wild life without spooking them. I prefer to frame in camera and not crop.

Very nice Ariel! I was a big Froot Loops fan as a kid! Love the colors of the second picture.
