Went to Candaba this morning with Martin, Tonji and Silvia to catch a glimpse of the Bean goose reported by Alex L of WBCP. It was so far out and had to do major cropping on this one. This guy is one big bird. Nikon D3 + Nikkor 500mm F4 VR + TC14eII; F10, 1/400, ISO400 @ 700mm hand held

Still very good detail despite the cropping..... love the low angle, head cock and colors, JP! This bird is waiting for the 800 mm guys.

I like the title and congratulations on this auspicious occasion. I hope Ely or the new Sigmonster trainer gets this birdie tomorrow.

Wow!! Great catch, JP!! Love the pose on this one, as always excellent exposure and BG. Hope the bird will still be there after the holy week.
Is this a first record for the country?

Beautiful shot of the giant goose. Could you give a guess how far the bird was? Its got a smile on his face just like a duck's face. Well done JP. Mabuhay.
