hi' the PCD may be is a resident in the uplands here but comes down starting late February. Usually in pairs but this one is alone. Few years ago i saw some PCD feeding on small snails along the creek. This time i heard her call but cant find her, so i made my call and glad the PCD appeared on the other side but far from my position. D5000 + SigEnigma, 500mm, +TC1.4X, ISO1250, 1/250s, f/9, tripod, distance @50m

Nice catch, Renoir.... seems your 500 + 1.4x is still sharp!

hi romy' thanks for your reassuring thoughts regarding 500 + 1.4x, yes some captures here are relatively sharp but noticed some instability of sharpness in other images. i hope its not a lens character. lately am very careful not to creat some shake to the camera or tripod with using the wired remote switch.

There are a lot of birds in your backyard and around your area. It must really be fun to be living in a place like that. You remind me of Ariel who works in Costa Rica and he is having the fun of his life with all the beautiful birds (with feathers) around him. I like your Cuckoo Dove. Well done Renoir. Mabuhay.

Philippine Cuckoo dove, nice. I think we saw this bird in Sabang, Palawan. I certainly want to see it again. Keep the pictures coming Renoir, lots of birders are going to Davao this year for the birdfest. Your pictures serve as an inspiration to everyone thinking of making the trip.
