My third trogon species in three months, this bird can be found inside the Cloude Forest reserves of Monteverde, Costa Rica. 400mm 1/20s ISO400 400mm 1/20s ISO400 400mm 1/20s ISO400 And here's the female: 400mm 1/25s ISO400

By the way the perch of the female Trogon is like that of a candy cane. Is that part of the Park?

I saw the bird perched inside a small cemetery located within the forest and the available light was enough for the f/5.6 maximum opening of my lens. Taking photos is very difficult inside the cloud forest due to low-light conditions and the sorrounding moist. I also made a mistake of having my camera stayed at ISO400 setting because I thought that a tripod and a remote trigger would be enough to take shake-free photos..It was a lesson

Wow so many trogons Ariel! What an unusual feather pattern on the wing. I really have to try Costa Rica one day. Your pictures continue to inspire the travel bug.
