Osawa and I went back to Olango to quench our need to add some new lifers to our list when I came across this bird that was so intent on hunting that I thought it would make a pefect subject using the OSAWA GS technique pioneered by Ka Mastah himself: Camera: Canon EOS 450D; (1/800) @ f/7.1; Focal Length: 400 mm ISO Speed: 200 Exposure Bias: 0 EV

The Osawa technique works very well. The bird is captured perfectly with the depth of field covering the entire bird only. Super sharp and clear. I wonder what the bird was thinking of while his picture was being taken. Well done Bobby. Mabuhay.

Thanks Ely. Yes, the ground level shots can result in dramatic images in some circumstances, so a little practice won't hurt.

Wonderful detail. Great color and contrast. The bird is leaping out of the picture. Great shot. Low angle puts emphasis on the bird with the great eye level look.
Those corals or shells look painful to lie on. I hope you were on a sandy portion when you did the Osawa technique.

Superb shot Bobby and thin DOF. So you got hooked the Osawa's low level shots ... That's why you went back sooner than I expected !Ha ha ha.

Superb detail and exposure Bobby! It looks like it was lit with a movie light and keyed-in with a different background! Congratulations
