This female Aythya fuligula was over 40 meters away at Candaba yesterday, but it was preening and staying in one place for some time. This allowed me to set up the Big Gun and pull in more detail. I'm actually surprised to get decent shots at 1600 mm, as the wind was blowing like crazy and I was trying to time my shutter press in between gusts. ;D 40D + Sigmonster + Canon 2x TC, 1600 mm, f/18, ISO 400, 1/160 sec, MF via Live View, 475B/3421 support:

excellent shots romy especially that of the tufted duck considering it has been windy for the past 2 days. the slightest movement would have ruined the photo but you timed it perfectly
