The Thunderbird Resort is located in Antipolo right besides the Eastridge Golf & Country Club. The most common bird in the area is the Long Tailed Shrike and believe it or not I did not see a single ETS. There are other birds but the most interesting one for me during my stay there was the Lowland White-eye. Lowland White-eye (Zosterops meyeni). Endemic to the Philippines. Canon EOS 1D Mark IV, EF 800mm f5.6 IS L Lens, Bean bag on car window. All pictures taken at ISO 200, 1/125, f8. Measured distance 10.8 meters.

Nice ones Ely! I like that there are lantana flowers in the shots -- that's always a plus for me! This one was on a a low shrub? Or was the plant climbing on a tree? Very nice angle. And, I didn't know you could take pictures from the car window with your lens. Cool!

And, I didn't know you could take pictures from the car window with your lens. Cool! Thank you Sylvia. It looks like a shrub to me climbing on some cogon grass that had dried branches on it. Its fun to be birding from the window but it also caused one of the overzealous security guard to say that photos are not allowed. If I were taking pictures of the scenery with a short lens he would not even know. I guess this is part of the travails of birding.

a bird with food.. signature elyteehankee! Nice environment shot sir! I love the BG! Thank you Edu. It is just a coincidence that I chance upon these birds on a fruiting tree and had the opportunity to take their picture. Frisky little birds that would be extremely difficult to photograph if they don't have that pause that refreshes. Heh heh heh.

Very nice series, Ely.... I'm familiar with that plant, but I didn't know its name till I saw Sylvia call it a lantana.

Thank you William. It rained the other day. I hope it doesn't mean that the rainy season will come early. But if the farmers needs the rain than let it come. Maybe there will be more birds.

I really like your rendition the second photo Ely! Lovely background and beautifully composed. What time was this taken? Looks like you had a lot of warm lighting.

Beautiful series Ely, always love to see compositions showing a bigger part of their natural habitat. The last image I think is cropped just right, best one for me.

Great colors in this LLWE set Ely.
These birds are so active I find it hard to set up a nice photo.
I keep getting weird comments from security guards as well. It must be because they have such boring jobs they probably just want to have some conversation.
