This was taken from my bedroom window. There is a tree with pink flowers right outside it that the Olive Back Sunbirds visit frequently. Even before I set up, I decided that I wanted to use 1/320 speed since I was hand-holding and the birds were moving around a lot. I am really, really happy with how the whole picture came out. This is the most detailed shot of an Olive Backed Sunbird that I've ever taken! Olive Backed Sunbird Nectarinia jugularis, female f5, iso 200, 1/320, Canon EOS 7D, EF 300mm f2.8 + 1.4x, resting on window

Thats a beautiful picture but you should not rest yet. Your next target will be the male Sunbird which is more colorful. Well done Sylvia. Mabuhay.

Lovely OBS. Just wish the branch wasn't obstructing the wing.

Thank you guys! I was SO happy to read your comments yesterday. I had a great day just thinking about your comments! Thank you Rey, Neon, Dennis, Mark, Ely, Tina, Edu, Pao, Renoir and Ralf!
Ely -- my pics of the male didn't come out as well .. he's certainly my next target!
Pao -- yes, the branches are unfortunate. Makes me think of bringing out my gardening tools and pruning that tree!
Ralf -- thanks for noticing! Still wondering how I can repeat that experience .. I didn't have to make any exposure adjustments when I converted the pic to jpg!

It is indeed your best shot and nothing will surpass it. I mean, you will have another best shot of this bird. As a matter of fact you will have a hard time choosing which is better than the best. He, he. This is the kind of problem I wish I will have more often. telyds
