hi' this was captured in Marihatag, Surigao del Sur. i thought its the Golden-bellied Gerygone but its black eyes are surrounded with yellow/orange ring. any idea? Yup, they have yellow-orange iris "eyes". The "black eyes" you are referring to is the pupil. "Ring" usually means "eye ring" which refers to the ring outside and that surrounds the eyes, it could be feathers or bare skin. The bird's iris and pupil essentially fills the exposed portion of their eyes, it's really hard to see the white of the avian eye as compared to humans. Here's reference photo.

hi neon rosell II' many thanks for the "lecture" about the eyes. so the pupil may change its size as some of the images of the same bird have pupil of entirely black? hi des' i should say the iris is yellow/orange and the pupil is black.

Yup, the iris is just like the lens opening on our camera lenses it goes from min-max size depending on the intensity of available light, exposing more of the pupil.
