i give up! i couldn't resist not going birding, so i went to my nearest grass land with Martin and was lucky enough to get a Barred Buttonquail in golden light Nikon D3 + Nikkor 500mm F4 VR + TC14eII; f7.1, 1/400, IS0 500, 700mm, bean bag

Both pics are great. The pitpit is superb. But the quail, really a super capture.

I am happy Martin is back, I was scrolling up and down last night wondering why there is no post from Martin for along time.
