Nikon D3 + Nikkor 500mm F4 VR + Nikkor TC14eII; f6.3, 1/160, ISO 1600, 700mm, bean bag Yesterday I went up the mountain province for the 2nd time in less than a month. I've been wanting to take a photo of the Mountain Tailorbird but this skittish bird has always managed to elude me. I came close on my first trip near Mt. Data 2 years ago. I abandoned the prospect of getting it on my 2nd and 3rd visit since the weather was not very cooperative back then. Today, my fourth trip to the mountains, I was blessed with clear skies and the little fellow showed up. I would have wanted to include more of the tail section but this would do for now. Enjoy

Beautiful capture of this difficult bird to capture with the camera. The details are very sharp. Look at the hair that is coming out of what looks like a bamboo shoot. Well done JP and congratulations on bagging the FBPOTW. Mabuhay.

What a great capture JP! I remember you mentioning that this was one of your target birds. Finding and photographing your target bird must be very satisfying.

Tailorbirds are such cool birds. Congrats on such a great picture! Wow! It looks like it's in action (it's calling?) yet there's so much feather detail.
