Sheesh!!! whatta mouthful! Black-crowned night heron in flight - full frame Camera: Nikon D90 Exposure: 0.003 sec (1/400) Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 400 mm ISO Speed: 200 Handheld This was taken really early and sunlight was still yellowish. Normally I would try to filter off the yellow cast to show the bird's color as close to real as it can get.. but I kinda like this one, as when I look at it I almost instantly can tell that it is lighted by the early morning sun so I kept it as-is. Thanks for looking!

Its good that you still have them in your place. They are not as many now in Candaba. Beautiful capture in full frame. Color may not be true color but the picture is true morning light. Well done Edu. Mabuhay.

Thanks mastah, with no other intention but to give my opinion, Full-frame BIFs are actually easier (IMHO) as the subject is so big inside the frame that no matter where it goes an AF point is there to track it. And of course it helps when there is almost no background. Thank you Godo. Someday soon we will shoot BIFs in your area Glenn, the D90 has decent AF and tracking @plain Idol, just say when, as long as it is a weekend. I forced myself back to the 8-5 world na kasi eh so I have been relegated to a weekend birder. mark and Sir William, your comments have taken away my fear of posting that first photo. I was really apprehensive as the color is not the real color of the bird.

Very nice BIF capture Ed. I'm still waiting for my gear and hopefully I can capture even just half as good as that then I would be happy.

great shots. Could the blue filter somehow taken out some highlights under the wings and near the legs?

I like the first Edu with the nice soft lighting. I like the place because not only are there so many and so close, but also because it is their home.

Thank you Edwin! hi Ronnie, the filter would not affect sharpness, I don't think it can. So I guess those areas were not as sharp to begin with Thanks Doc! I was there today with DocMando and Toto.. will open a thread for that in a bit.
