Here is a picture of a BIF that I took in Candaba with the 1D Mark IV with the 800mm on a tripod. I could not do the same thing with my 5D Mark II. I think the fast AF and the 10 fps makes a lot of difference. It was Romy who encourage me to do the BIF with the 800mm. Thank you Romy, for having more confidence in me than I had in myself.

Great results Ely. Would this be your first published BIF?

Welcome to the BIF club, Ely!!! BTW, on my LCD, I see some color fringing around the head and back of the bird, and some light haloes around the wingtips (could be caused by shadow/highlight tool). Perhaps your LCD's calibration has drifted?

COngratulations of your first BIF post sir! nice debut to the BIF club! Be proud sir, bifs in general are already hard to do, but with the 3degree visual field of the 800, it is almost unimaginable to go BIF at that length but you have done it. BIG Congrats! Now I can't wait till I see your BIFs using a 1DMk4 and your 300

Great results Ely. Would this be your first published BIF? Thank you Paolo. I think this is the second time. The first one was in San Juan Batangas.

Nice colors, Frozen indeed! Thank you Chito. I have to practice more but the situation in Candaba makes it difficult now as there are not so many of them flying around. Maybe next month.

But the 1D M4 makes it less difficult because of the fast auto focus. When I am able to buy one, I will try it out in your private bird sanctuary. Heh heh heh. Mabuhay Edu.

you are more than welcome sir to come to Valenzuela, it will be my honor. but I think the 800 for BIFs here is overkill as they often fly by within 6 meters. But the 300 will just be perfect!

I don't remember you having posted a BIF in the past. But this one surely isn't bad at all! I hope you post more!

I don't remember you having posted a BIF in the past. But this one surely isn't bad at all! I hope you post more! Thank you Ariel. The first BIF that I had was that of a Brahminy Kite taken in Pinagbayanan, Batangas. Once I am able to buy the camera I will try to take more BIF pictures.
