these are not good pictures but I hope it's enough to identify the bird. Took them in Candaba (Jan 24, 2010). The size of the bird is somewhere between the size of a cisticola and a eurasian tree sparrow- definitely much smaller than a sparrow. It was only one bird and it likes eating insects that are found in dense tall grasses. Can't seem to remember the sound it makes though Please help ID. Thanks in advance.

Plain Idol, it looks like a Clamorous Reed-Warbler to me, but I'm not 100% sure. Let's wait for a concurring opinion. Ref. Photo of a CRW:

thanks Romy I was thinking it was but it looked so much smaller than the regular clamorous reed warbler... maybe it wasn't full grown yet

I agree with Ka Romy - that bird looks a lot like the Clamorous variety. Got a couple of shots that show the back and front areas of the bird:

HI Tina, I checked this with Phil Round in case it was some rarity but he thought Clamorous too. Des

Hi Des,
Sorry saw this now only. Thank you so much for asking him even if you already guessed that it is most probably a clamorous reed warbler.
