My computer is back!!!! All my device drivers were destroyed by the flood, and it took me a while to download these from the net. Now, my desktop is better than ever - thanks to a clean install that swept away all the garbage that accumulated in my system drive for two years. Here's the first photo I processed with my revitalized desktop. Early morning sidelighting was tough to tame. I kinda like the double curve of the perch, hence I decided to just make it a pano. ;D ;D ;D Blue-headed Fantail ( Rhipidura cyaniceps, a Philippine endemic) Habitat - Forest up to 2000 m. Shooting Info - Elev. 1790 m ASL, Bauko, Mountain Province, January 21, 2010, 5D2 + 500 f4 IS + Canon 1.4x TC, 700 mm, f/5.6, ISO 640, 1/160 sec, Plain Tina bean bag, manual exposure in available light

It certainly shows that you are in the Mountain Province. Nice one.

Does this fantail behave like that of a Pied Fantail that keeps on flicking its tail? Nice shot with the pine tree with all its green pine needles. Well done Romy. Mabuhay.

Thanks, folks. One nice thing about the 5D2's 21 M fat, juicy pixels is one can crop and throw even 80% of the pixels away, and if the capture is pixel-sharp, there's still enough detail left to print a decent 12"x15". This one came from a 3600x1800 crop so it can be printed at up to 15"x30". A native ppi of 120 from sharp captures (to be upressed to 300 ppi) should be enough for good prints.

Superb! I love the perch. Sir Romy, are you sure you don't have a makeshift bird studio? ;D
Just kidding, of course.

Beautiful composition Mastah Romy. Love the life size rendition of this bird looks so natural, seems like I'm looking at it in the wild.

WOW Romy you got this bird finally in the open, In my shots they always find a dark area with lots of distractions. I guess this birds are picky in whom they want to take their photos!

This is a most wonderful shot and the framing posted is a master's rendition. Shows you need to sometimes break some rules to render the capture best. Bow Bow , truly a one from the Mastah
