I was wondering if any of you guys have any rituals or superstitions when you go birding. I usually try to put on my lucky blue shirt when i go birding

If i go birding i usually ask for this species and so far so good. For the last 10 years of birding i always fine the species that i want to see although not all species at least the superstitious believe it helps though not really lucky with photography. Some people are really lucky but the skills in finding bird really prevails.

Hmmm luck?
Sometimes I feel like I am in the zone, listening, looking and being patient and positive. These are the times when I just want to keep going and going. When I am not thinking about anything else but trying to find birds I usually get lucky.
But when I am somewhat distracted, I don't see as many birds.
Oh and I usually wear old t-shirts.

1. if planning for the sortie, I get extra sweet with the commander in chief so she will give me travel papers 2. the day before the sortie, I do an ironman challenge (I iron the clothes) then research the particular species or location for what to find. 3. during the sortie, I pretend to look at my camera's LCD as this is the time when the birds show Seriously though, I just make sure I pack everything like extra batt and extra memory cards. This makes me confident to fire away.
