went to palawan last weekend but not primarily for birding. managed to do some birding on the side for half a day at iwahig. here's what i got Nikon D300 + 80-400 vr + 1/160, f/10, 400 mm, ISO 500

Great catch JP! I remember stalking those Tailorbirds at Irawan - they are so hard to capture properly coz they always stay inside the bushes. The Iora is better behaved, but I still want a clean shot of the Tailorbird there. When do you plan to go back? I may just have a sudden "inspection" tour there. :-)

one of my favorite little bird,the tailor bird, we also called this "turismao/turismaw" i love the music come from this guys..slowy but surely the sweetnes of the sound they can make..i always see this bird in tall grasess like talahib with full of vines of differtn plants than the tree like some birds do,you can easily find ther nest too in the tall grasses,than the tree......thank you for sharing of your nice shots sir
