i have tried several times to take a photo of this owl in upd, it goes at the same spot every night. I hope it is clear enough for id. . Thank you very much for your help

Hi Bert,
Looks like Chocolate Boobook Ninox randi i'm not that sure, a split from from Brown Boobook Ninox scutulata (formerly Brown Hawk Owl). If you have other shot where we see its streaks in breast and tail it would be nice.

sir ding, the owl was there exactly 6:15. Last night was a no show, although the oriental hobby was diving low for bats. thank you sir godo, will try to get some more shots tonight

Here's what I got, today, using a flash. It's near to impossible to MF in the dark!! A spot light to help focus would have been great. 5D2 + 600mm f4 IS + 2x Kenko TC + 580EX II, f4, 1/50 sec, ISO 640, Tripod-Gimbal suport Messed around with the eyes on this one..
