Got this Full Frame capture of a Grassbird last Thursday. It was so close it won't fit the frame horizontally. Fortunately, I was able to manage a few vertical shots before it flew away. Striated Grassbird (Megalurus palustris), Candaba Wetlands, Jan 7, 2101 50D + EF500, f6.3, 1/1000, ISO 400, Manual Exposure, Handheld Head Shot Portrait

Another scalp to add to your collection. It certainly looks close enough for you to touch the bird. Well done Rey. Mabuhay.

Thanks a lot folks. @jp I actually used cooling filters in PS for this to soften the warm light because I felt the light was too warm and the birds colors became too "orangy". @renoir I really can't tell the distance but when I tried framing the bird horizontally and it won't fit, I knew then it was really close, must be, just beyond the MFD of the lens.

The high bar in wild bird photography is to get close to the subject such that it can fill the frame and the composition is optimal without a single pixel being wasted. You certainly cleared this bar with such a fine shot, Rey.... brilliant!

Thanks a lot Mastah Romy, wish it will become a lot easier to create such images, find it really difficult. Thank you Edu, it was one of those 'tsamba shots" for me.
