Both are good TC's as I have both, I think it won't AF on the "Bigmos" though.

hmmm.. you have a 500 already. buy Camo first General rule is that although it increases reach, it degrades IQ.

Hi renoir.. 500mm is enough reach in my opinion for birding. I bird with a 400. Camo or Camou is short for Camouflage. The "attire" that we most often use so that the birds won't see us and allow us to get near. This really adds to the adventure of birding.. crawling on your belly, slowly walking with camera already in your face, etc.. just to get close and get that shot. These are parts of the invisible ninja birdnut technique also. haha! Another point of interest would be, to study the behavior of the bird before going out to photograph it. One instance I can recall is when I spotted a Grey Wagtail in UPD but could not get close. I learned that this particular bird will repeatedly go to that spot to forage for food. So in one morning, I went there BEFORE the bird and waited underneath my sniper's blanket (with gabsbuluran) to have a photoshoot. resulting in I still blew the highlights right below the wing hahahaha!

Is that right? I'll check it when I get paroled next week. If you can wait, I'll give it a go.

I have tried Mark's Kenko 1.4TC when I was still using the D90 + Sigma 150-500 Combo and it does AF. If light is enough, it AFs quick. If light is insufficient, the lens hunts a lot in attempting to get a focus.

hi edu' WOOWWWWWWWW! VERY NICE CAPTURE OF THE WAGTAIL! thanks for the tips and advice. ok i wll try the CAT uniform. i just hope neighbors here will not be surprised or scared with me wearing the attire. yes you are right. the wagtail is just there. i captured some images yesterday and this morning but not really very good. i can not concentrate myself as the flycatcher, the red-kelled, olive-backed, bulbul and maya are also very near and tempted me to capture too. tomoro i wl try to concentrate only on one bird. but your WAGTAIL is very nice capture. Congratulations!

Congratulations! Let's talk in person.. the list you gave here now makes me want to pack and head to Misamis! Kidding aside, if these birds are all inside your backyard, you can choose a nice place to set up a "blind" where you can hide. If you were here in the metro I would give you enough camo cloth to make a small blind to hide you while crouched and a small hole for the lens. As for the wagtail, I forgot to post the shooting details but that is full-frame at less than 300mm. I was about 3meters (10feet) away from where it landed. I still blew the highlights tho
