Just came back from a family trip in Zambales. With lots of mango trees all over the place, I was planning to go around, be familiar with the place and was expecting to capture lifers. Unfortunately, severe coughs and colds caught up on me and I was able to photograph only these. In that place, I was able to see sunbirds, kingfishers and some other bird species that I am not familiar with but I wasn't able to get any decent shot Please let me know if these are not brown shrikes. Your ID of Brown Shrike is correct. The second picture shows the fine details of the bird's feathers. Very nice. Well done Ariel. Mabuhay.
