Did a little "Terning" too as the Mastah would say, in Candaba last Saturday. The Terns are not as near as they are in the Coastal Bay but you get a much pleasing background colors. Whiskered Tern (Chlidonias hybridus), Candaba Wetlands, 12-26-09 EOS50D + EF500, f7.1, 1/2000 sec, ISO 400, Manual Exposure, Handheld And another one from the same burst. This is my capture of that rare Lapwing. It was quite a distant shot so I had to stack two TC's to lengthen my reach. Got to go back to get a more detailed capture. Thanks to Doc Chito for the tip. Grey-headed Lapwing (Vanellus cinereus), Candaba Wetlands, 12/26/09 EOS 50D + EF500 + Stacked 2 1.4X TC's, f9.0, 1/1000, In Live View Mode, Manual Focus and Exposure, Manfrotto Gimbal Support

I thought if you put two 1.4X TC the auto focus will still work. Good job on this rare bird. Well done Rey. Mabuhay.

Great Terns in flight - looks like you're taming your 50D already. That lapwing is a beauty! :-)

Great shots, Rey. Great detail on the tern in flight and the lapwing is still sharp with stacked TC's and the distance.

those backgrounds are buttery. nice to have a spot that yields beautiful backgrounds. less 'for the record' style bird pics. nice work!

Thanks a lot Tonji and Paolo. I was fortunate there was adequate light for me to use stacked TC's.
