Post-processing is a very important part of wild bird photography using digital photo equipment, and the foundation of good PP is a monitor that displays images correctly as far as brightness, contrast and colors are concerned. Here's a link to a post at DPReview that allows you to check quickly if your monitor is displaying correctly. The links provided below the diagram are also excellent and convenient quick visual tests. My hardware-calibrated LCD monitor has passed all the tests with flying colors. ;D forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1006&message=22835742

This is a very useful link Mastah! Thanks for sharing it - I was able to "calibrate" my office monitor with it, and I'll do the same with the one at home.

Hehe.... if you wish to remove the guesswork out of monitor calibration, the Spyder2 Express is now available locally at PHP 6.3K. www.pinoyphotography.org/forum/index.php?topic=19216.0I use a Monaco Optix and it cost me PHP 20k a couple of years ago.

Hehehe, the monitor calibration charts worked fine for me Mastah. Strange as it may seem, when I manually calibrated my home PC's Viewsonic Monitor, I could not see the 6 B/W Rings over at DP Review, but when I set the monitor to "AUTO" (something along that line) LO AND BEHOLD, I could see ALL of them! I guess sometimes it's best to trust the manufacturer, ahihihi. :-)
