With nothing better to do on Christmas day, I decided to experiment with various frame rates from the 7D. I attached my camera to an inverted Manfrotto 3421 gimbal head + a 681B monopod. Below is an image of the 3421 + monopod from the Manfrotto website. If you up-end that, and attach a 7D + lens via a quick mount plate, you'll have an idea how my poor man's Steadicam looks. ;D Using rubber strips, I tied the contraption (via the free end of the retracted monopod) to the handle bar of my bike and went pedalling around the block. The camera was gliding just a few inches above the ground, providing a dog's eyeview of the passing scene. Canon 7D + Sigma 10-20, 10 mm, f/9, 1/320 sec, auto ISO, captured in 720/60p, played at 40%/100%/200% speed, Paranaque City, Philippines, December 25, 2009. No grading on the footage, just cutting, changing running speed and resizing to 960x540 for web posting.

Thanks, Bobby. This was a practice footage for what I intend to do with bird videos - run the footage at normal speed when the bird is inactive, and then slow it down seamlessly to 40% when there's action.
