Finally found the time to PP and upload. Here're my shots of the same birds that Mark, Toto, Bert, and DocMando got. First, the prize of the day. It was lurking deep among the twigs. But this band of sharp-eyed, nimblefingered hotshots spotted him: The adult Grey-headed Fish Eagle. It tried to fly away but I must've been blessed with Van Goghs ghost as I got this impressionist painting of a shot. It settled on a backlit branch thinking the sun would hide it but it was no match for this band of sharp-eyed, nimblefingered...did I say hotshots? A short while later, its (probable) offspring lazily posed for us. Then decided to escape vainly from the shutterfingers of this band of sharp-eyed, nimblefingered...you get the point.
Next, the other prize of the day: The Peregrine Falcon aka Black-hooded Rufous-barred Yellow-feet Goshawk-Falcon. I can see Mike Lu knitting his eyebrows now. And here the poor-man's video version of it.
The rest are the usual suspects. Ospreys Galore Purple Heron in its awkward lankiness Barn SwallowWhite-collared KingfisherCommon KingfisherYellow Bittern

Beautiful photos all of them! And I also love the way each one is narrated and a story is told.
Also, thank you for sharing pics of the smaller birds that you all saw and photographed sir!

Thanks, everyone. Hope I can organize another sortie of 4 people soon after the holidays. That GHFE is really a treat. It's listed as "rare" in the KennyG but this is the 2nd time I encountered it this year (sometime January's the last time).

Thats a lot of birds. I guess when you are with a bunch of sharp-eyed, nimblefingered, and Birdnuts in a beautiful place like La Mesa dam you get inspired. If possible next time you go, could you please text me if I can join you? Thank you. Well done Ding. Mabuhay.

I love Tarragon Tea. But, as I mentioned in the other thread, I think you'll have to leave behind your 800mm. If you want, you can leave the howitzer with me for safekeeping (for, oh, about 3 years).

We will have Tarragon Tea and anything else you like but the 800mm is the love of my life and she goes wherever I go. I am sure she will enjoy the presence of a jolly chap like you. Bring along a CF card and see what she can do for you. Thank you Ding and hope to see you soon.

The Pink-necked Green Pigeon is showing all its colors as the sun hits it just right. Super pic.
